ArmarX – A Robot Cognitive Architecture (Tamim Asfour)

A cognitive robot architecture is the driving engine for robots performing complex tasks while learning from human and interaction experience with the world. Thus, it should allow 1) combining experience-based learning and generative knowledge extension and 2) processing symbolic and subsymbolic information. In this talk, I will give an overview on our work regarding the design of a cognitive control architecture and its implementation using the robot software development environment ArmarX.
