Bijan Bowen tests GPT-6 Astra through the ChatGPT desktop app rather than relying on launch benchmarks. Early projects include a browser operating system, a native C++ skateboarding game, a 3D watch and a city scene that changes across historical eras.
Astra's strongest results involve spatial work. It produces detailed interactive scenes, convincing character movement and a Blender-and-Godot game with responsive objects and sound in about 15 minutes. Several outputs still contain omissions or mechanical defects, including missing interactions, awkward collisions and a 3D printer with geometry problems.
Bowen concludes that Astra is especially well tuned for 3D games and visual application work. On ultra or extra-high reasoning with faster generation enabled, it completes demanding results quickly while leaving substantial weekly usage available, setting up a later direct comparison with Fable 5.1.
