An artificial intelligence trading bot is software that uses AI during research, strategy creation, market analysis or execution. It can inspect historical data, propose hypotheses, write strategy code and connect to an exchange or prediction market through an application programming interface.
A bot still needs explicit risk, timing, liquidity and order controls. Backtests and short live trials can reveal implementation problems, but profitable results over a small sample do not prove that a strategy has a durable edge or will perform safely in changing markets.

Frequently asked questions
How does an AI trading bot work?
It combines market data, a defined strategy, execution code and exchange connectivity to decide when and how to submit orders.
Does a profitable AI trading bot test prove future returns?
No. Short tests can be affected by chance, market conditions, costs and overfitting, so they do not establish persistent future performance.
