The video tours Berd, an open source desktop front end from Block that can connect to Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Amp, Cursor Agent and Goose. Its canvas uses animated characters to make command line agents feel less intimidating.
Guided onboarding recommends agent harnesses for different kinds of work, while built in personas cover general assistance, building, review, writing style, decisions and idea generation. A visual agent builder lets users create custom personas without writing a system prompt directly.
The walkthrough tests a movie review project with Codex. The agent inspects an empty folder, asks a useful product question, proposes safer handling for an external service token and begins building the app, while Berd exposes reusable skills and desktop completion notifications.
Berd looks most useful for people who want coding agents without living in a terminal. The early release still has rough edges, including a failed Claude Code setup during the demonstration, and its playful interface may distract experienced command line users.
