Charlie Guo and Gabriel Chua demonstrate six ways to use Codex, moving from supplying context and building applications to computer use, long-running collaboration, recurring work and embedding the agent harness in other products. Examples include a live translation app, a repository explainer and remote control from a phone.
The workshop shows how plugins, screenshots with extracted text, dictation and memory supply context. It compares desktop computer use, a signed-in Chrome extension and the in-app browser, then demonstrates goal-driven projects, separated agent tasks, review loops and explicit success criteria.
The presenters distinguish thread-based heartbeat automations from scheduled work in separate threads. They close with the app-server protocol and emphasize turning repeated obstacles into reusable tools while retaining human involvement where needed.
