A newer character-sheet technique masks every repeated face except one so the generator has a single facial identity to follow. In the single-character test, the masked and unmasked sheets perform similarly. Simmons says masking is more likely to help scenes with two characters, where models can otherwise swap or blend identities between subjects.
The tutorial then compares all-in-one reference generation with a first-frame workflow inspired by Zach London's process. Each required character angle is placed into a prepared scene before animation, so the video model never invents an unseen face during camera movement. This takes more manual setup and limits some camera moves, but it gives the creator tighter control over individual shots and produced the sequence Simmons preferred.
The practical conclusion is that there is no single mandatory character-sheet layout. Current models handle several reference formats, and consistency depends as much on choosing the right angle for each shot as on the sheet itself. Creators should keep turnaround extraction, duplicate-face masking and first-frame construction available as complementary tools, while putting most of their effort into a distinctive character and deliberate shot design.
