Pogany compares the current Gmail and Google Drive integrations in Claude and ChatGPT through practical tasks rather than feature announcements. His first test asks each system to sort recent email by urgency, draft a reply to the most important message and wait for approval before sending it.
Both systems can now draft, reply to, forward and send email, but the comparison exposes important limits. Claude cannot inspect email attachments in the demonstrated setup, while ChatGPT can read them. Both also support only one connected inbox, which makes multi-account workflows awkward.
The document test shows a larger difference. Both assistants can create a Google Doc, but Claude replaces an existing document with a newly generated version when asked for changes. ChatGPT edits the original document in place, displays it inside the conversation and can also adjust sharing, move files or delete them with the configured approval controls.
Pogany also demonstrates ChatGPT using a connected document as source material for deep research, plus newer reservation, quiz and Drive-library features. He concludes that ChatGPT currently offers the stronger connected-work experience, especially for attachments and collaborative document editing. A mid-video promotion for the creator's paid learning club is omitted.
