Apple is moving AI closer to personal context on devices, while Anthropic is placing Claude inside selected Slack channels and tools. Codex takes a more file-centered route, earning trust first with engineers and then with legal, recruiting and sales work as employees learn which sensitive context it can handle.
Jones says slower public releases of frontier models increase pressure to extract more utility from existing intelligence. The practical question becomes who controls context, how it is permissioned and whether organizations can keep their information portable instead of becoming locked into one provider.
